Fields of practice

The law rules over social situations and social situations
do not occur in isolation; it is only normal that
several aspects of the law will apply to each case.
  • I have extensive experience in work contracts, including fixed-term and indefinite employment contracts, ranging from lower-level salaried employees to senior executives, both for employment contracts and for project-based contracts.

I have successfully handled serious court claims pertaining to unpaid wages, overtime pay and benefits, to contestations of invalid or improper dismissal, to the protection from personal insult at the workplace, undeclared work or simulated project-based contracts.I have effectively dealt with cases where a business was transferred or the employer had changed in order to avoid the payment of labour-related claims and I have overcome the deceitful concealment or fraudulent transfer of assets.

I have excellent knowledge of Greek and EU laws on unfair competition, misleading advertising, unfair commercial practices and the protection of free competition, as well as of the Greek and European case law in these areas.

I am experienced in the establishment and operation of multi-person and single-person companies of all types (general and limited partnerships, undisclosed partnerships, private capital companies, limited liability companies, sociétés anonymes) and in drafting intra-company agreements and shareholders agreements, in resolving internal issues and conflicts and in protecting minority shareholder rights.

This includes cases of infringements after the registration, as well as cases of cyber squatting, both in court and before arbitration bodies for dispute resolution (WIPO – UDRP, Hellenic Telecommunications and Post Commission).

  • My experience in project-based contracts ranges from the safe drafting of contractual terms to handling court cases pertaining to the interpretation or violation of terms, poor workmanship, withdrawals from contracts, delayed payments and penalty clauses. • I have extensive experience in court cases for damages. In various cases of serious and sometimes fatal traffic accidents or accidents at work, in cases of medical error and even in cases of insulting or libellous statements in the Press, I have managed to secure substantial amounts of compensation for victims and I am able to handle every civil liability case with optimal results. My experience in compensation is complemented by my excellent knowledge of the legislation on private-sector insurance.

  • I have a Master’s degree in intellectual property law from the University of London. As a lawyer working for “ASMA 450+”, the biggest union of composers and songwriters in Greece, I have been – and still am – active in the protection of creators’ copyright and have delved into this sector’s issues and in the creators’ efforts to free themselves from the disgraceful AEPI regime and establish a new organisation for the collective management of their rights, owned and managed by the creators themselves. My involvement has offered me substantial experience and knowledge of the ‘human geography’ and circumstances in this sector. This, combined with my theoretical knowledge and my courtroom experience, enables me to reliably and effectively represent the creators and artists, both with regard to contracts and with regard to asserting or protecting their intellectual property or related rights. To the creators and the rightholders, I have already proven the mettle of my character and the quality of my work. My efforts have led to tangible results, both when defending their collective interests and when asserting the copyrights and moral rights of individual creators. They have honoured me with their trust and have allowed me to establish my presence in a sector that has been and still is in dire need of renewal and of restoring the faith among the persons and the various bodies it consists of.

However, my knowledge in intellectual property is not limited to the standard areas of intellectual creation; it extends to the much wider circle of intellectual property law brought about by technological progress.I am therefore able to effectively meet the legal protection needs with regard to coding, software development and online platforms, as well as database-related matters. My knowledge in this field, combined with my experience in commercial law, enables me to offer reliable legal support in the areas of software license agreements (SLAs), commercial contracts for the provision of online business-to-business (B2B) services, Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) contracts and software development contracts.

  • Thanks to my extensive courtroom experience and my thorough knowledge of substantive and procedural law, I can reliably operate in the area of appellate law and in proceedings held before the Supreme Court, which can be particularly challenging and demanding. It is a telling fact that I have undertaken to handle many ‘lost’ cases before the Supreme Court and have achieved a high success rate. In fact, many of these cases were assigned to me by the very lawyers who had handled them in the previous stages and who needed the assistance of a capable appellate lawyer for the appeal proceedings.I am also perfectly familiar with the legislation on judgment enforcement, which ensures that a favourable judgment will not end up being a ‘dead letter’.

One cannot properly handle any legal case without a solid grasp of procedural rules, which determine how is a right to be exercised or how is a claim to be brought before the courts.
